GMGC Dear Friends,

We are entering the 2023 program year with great excitement about all the wonderful and ambitious events planned for our club and our community. We kick off our Programs in March with “New Plants for 2023”. In April, we’ll celebrate Arbor Day with Gates Mills Elementary School, as well as doing garden projects with students. May Baskets and Bridge Box plantings will help welcome spring to our village. Our Plant Sale and Vintage Boutique held Memorial Day weekend has become a perennial favorite. As always, we’ll be brightening the Post Office and Library with floral treats, tending to our Arboretum, organizing Roadside Cleanup, doing Senior Outreach and Youth programs, celebrating the National Garden Week with offerings to the public, and much more! We’ve started a reforestation project on our own property, and will be planting outreach gardens at the Gates Mills Environmental Center. September 15 and 16, we will present a fabulous Flower Show, “Jewels from the Garden”, with a youth division called “Sparkle”. Whew! That’s a lot, and it’s all thanks to our amazing members who are so dedicated to making our community truly special. We are so grateful to you for all you do, and look forward to a great year.

About Janet...

About Linda...    I moved to Gates Mills with my husband over four years ago and instantly fell in love with the beauty and serenity found in this village. Over the years, I had been a regular attendee of the biennial Garden Tour held by the GMGC and had always admired the splendor of the properties and the pride the community had in making Gates Mills a very special place. When we were fortunate enough to find a property on the Chagrin River, we jumped at the opportunity and have never looked back.
Having an interest in gardening, I was immediately drawn to the Gates Mills Garden Club and was warmly invited to club activities, even though I had missed the September 1st deadline for membership. Once joining, I found a highly active club offering 30 committees, only half of which are mentioned above, Whether you are an avid gardener, have skills in floral design or are somewhere in-between, there is something for everyone in this garden club! I feel so fortunate to be part of this organization as I have learned an incredible amount and have made wonderful friends along the way. It also feels good knowing that I am doing a small part to help maintain the beauty found in this village.

Please stay tuned for updates and connect with us through email, Facebook, Instagram or our Website www.thegatesmillsgardenclub.com.  If you would like to join our mailing list to learn about all our current and future events, please click here.

Happy Gardening,  (Please add something or change our closing)
