2025 in BLOOMThe warm and sunny gardening season is coming to a close, but - hurry - there is still some time to plant bulbs and trees before the ground freezes. Our attention is turning toward the coming holidays, and the garden club is no exception. Our last program of the season on November 11 features a compelling speaker, Matt Valencic, sharing his methods for getting rid of the worst invasive plants. The next day we give thanks to the many Gates Mills employees who do so much for us at the Service Department Luncheon.
On November 21 (note new date) we will gather on the bridges to plant the boxes for the holiday season, followed by soup at the barn to warm up and catch up with each other. Preparations are well underway for our fab “Mad for Plaid” Holiday Luncheon on December 9 at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club with Mike Petrone, Cleveland’s Piano Man - for garden club members only, and note the RSVP deadline is November 24. Our Holiday Greens Workshop takes place on December 2 at the Barn, where we will have expert guidance on making a lovely seasonal arrangement in a birch box. Please RSVP by November 25. We are truly grateful for the collaborative spirit of this all-volunteer garden club and its beautiful traditions, and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
