The Gates Mills Garden Club is proud to offer its scholarship program and the Laurie Hess Horticulture Award to graduating seniors from Gilmour Academy, Hawken High School, Mayfield Heights High School, including Excel TECC and students involved at the Gates Mills Environmental Education Center. The Scholarship Award can be as much as $1000 to a selected applicant. The number and quality of applicants will determine the number and the amount of each award.

An additional contribution was made to the Garden Club of Ohio Scholarship Fund to help other students in Ohio achieve their environmental and horticultural educational goals.
2017
Kai Beller is the 2017 recipient of the Gates Mills Garden Club Scholarship and the Laurie Hess Horticulture Award. Kai is extremely articulate, compassionate and committed to the environment and the betterment of our world. Kai plans to study sustainability in college and hopes to one day own a sustainable landscape and construction business.
